New Shipbuilding Order Coming For Royal

Royal Caribbean's first cabins for solo travelers coming by June

It's official: Royal Caribbean this year will unveil cabins designed for solo travelers -- a first for the line. A Royal Caribbean representative tells USA TODAY a late spring overhaul of one of its 22 ships, the Radiance of the Seas, will see the addition of three cabins for singles -- all windowless "inside" rooms. The 2,112-passenger Radiance is scheduled to enter dry dock for the makeover in late May and emerge (with the new single cabins) in early June. Norwegian Cruise Line announced today that the popular Slam Allen Band will return to Norwegian Epic as the official Fat Cats house blues band, starting January 15, 2011. Disney Dream Arrives in Port Canaveral

Disney's newest cruise ship, the 4,000-passenger Disney Dream, pulled into Port Canaveral this morning just after sunrise. The ship, which cost Disney more than $900 million, was met with a water cannon salute and multiple helicopters buzzing overhead. Disney launched fireworks from the ship as it entered the Port Canaveral channel and again just before it pulled up to the pier. Disney has big expectations for the ship, which is about 50 percent larger than the existing Magic and Wonder vessels.
