Carnival Cruise Lines launching new brand

Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines on Monday announced a host of new partnerships with brands and celebrities as part of a $500 million initiative. The first piece of steel was cut today at Myer Werft in Papenburg, Germany for the construction of Norwegian Breakaway, the first of our two new Freestyle Cruising® ships , set for delivery in April 2013. The first plate of steel took four minutes to cut by a plasma torch in the yard's state of the art facility. Korean Air readies for A380 launch from New York

By Jerry Limone Korean Air will fly the first commercial Airbus A380 from New York to Asia on Aug. 9, when the double-deck jet departs Kennedy Airport for South Korea.   The airline’s A380 will have 407 seats, fewer than any other A380 in service, Korean Air said. During the month of May Norwegian Dawn underwent a multi-million dollar extensive renovation focused on enhancing the guest experience. Norwegian Epic to Offer Dual Embarkation Ports in Western Med

Norwegian Cruise Line will offer a second embarkation port to the Norwegian Epic’s seven-day Western Mediterranean cruises from April 29 through Oct. 17, 2012. Carnival Cruise Lines’ newest ship, the 130,000-ton Carnival Magic, is undergoing sea trials in the Adriatic Sea in preparation for its May 1 debut in Europe. Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, the 3,690-passenger vessel had a full contingent of officers, technicians and engineers on board who tested the Carnival Magic’s navigation and mechanical systems. Disney Dream Arrives in Port Canaveral

Disney's newest cruise ship, the 4,000-passenger Disney Dream, pulled into Port Canaveral this morning just after sunrise. The ship, which cost Disney more than $900 million, was met with a water cannon salute and multiple helicopters buzzing overhead.
